Here’s the deal: We want to know how you’re doing. We want to know about your PRs, your favorite moves, what you’re learning and loving at GymCore CrossFit. Why? Because GymCore CrossFit isn’t just about the workout, it’s also about the community. And that’s why we’ve created a new thread for the blog called The CrossLine. These posts will be from a varied group of GymCore CrossFit members. We think they will especially be fun once The Paleo Challenge gets going. Kara, a new member who’s about a month in, will start us off.

4 Rounds
3 mins on./1 min. off
15 Squats
10 Pushups
5 Jerks 135/95
AMRAP
This was my first time doing a round of 15 squats as part of a WOD. My legs are definitely tired! Jerks were new for me, and once I got the dip-drive-dip movement with my hips and arms coordinated, they felt pretty smooth. Well, except the last two rounds. Those were a lot harder because my legs were starting to feel like jello from all the squats. I averaged 2 to 2.5 rounds each 3 min. period which totaled about 120 squats in 15 minutes (rest periods included)! I am pretty sure my exhaustion and butt-whupping from this WOD is due to, well, it was hard, but it was also because of the holiday weekend. I had a little of each: sugar, grains, and alcohol. Happy to be back to Paleo sustenance! Lots of water and stretching since the workout this morning; curious to see how I do tomorrow.
WOD: Monday, Jan 2, 2012
30-20-10
KB Swings 53/35
Pushups (Hands off)
Goblet Squat 53/35
I woke up this morning (Tuesday) and my legs weren’t sore. That’s definitely a first. 60 squats and I even taught a yoga class after my WOD Monday night!
