March Madness Wrap-Up Week

Hard to believe March is nearly over. We’ve seen the official start of Spring, summer-like days and hopefully the last few wintery ones, too. Like last night and today — what the heck, howling wind? We’ve also seen a month full of hard work at GymCore. Well done, everybody. This week marks the end of March Madness and this week’s WODs are the benchmarks. Your benchmark score will be calculated by your best 3 workouts, whichever you choose to do. There is a lot of overhead lifting, pushing and the like, so stay tuned to how your body is feeling and do what you can to the best of your ability. You don’t have to do all 5 days without modification.

Remember, there will be two winners to split the pot 50/50:

Best Attendance

Greatest Benchmark Improvement By Percentage

Here‘s a little review of a few tips on how to make the most of your workout from some CrossFit folk down in PA.

Your SuperBowl Weekend GymCore CrossFit Report

Saturday, February 4, 2012—9 AM Buddy WOD

Well, it was a tie. When we asked you, so what was your favorite part of the WOD today? the overwhelming response was: “Power Cleans”  and “working with my teammate.” Awww, well, shucks. **Blushing** Way to bring it in teammate style before the big game, everybody!

Sunday, February 5, 2012—GAME DAY

Yoga was well attended this morning with many dedicated regulars and a couple new faces. We opened our feet and stretched our quads and hamstrings. We also learned that flexibility is an essential part in preventing cardiac disease. Wow. Class ended with a blissful nine minute meditation. We get strength, weight training, and stamina from CrossFit. Yoga adds to this overall fitness by increasing our flexibility and it gets us good at relaxing our nervous systems–a.k.a. CHILLING OUT. Mash it all up and what does that make us? Pretty darn fit, balanced and healthy, that’s what! Go rock the day, Yogi CrossFitters!
